Thank you for your interest in the Hawaii 4-H Youth Development Program!

This e-Learning course is designed to acquaint you with basic 4-H club information and is divided into 8 modules.  Each module will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete.

• "4-H Leader Basics" provides information about the purpose & philosophy of
  4-H.
  
  
• "Essential Elements of Youth Development" provides information on the essential elements of 4-H.  You will also learn about the positive aspects of working with young people.
  
  
• "Experiential Learning" provides basic principles of the experiential learning model.
  
  
• "Knowing and Using 4-H Curricula" provides the life skills components and experimental learning methods that are used in 4-H curricula.
  
  
• "Program Planning" provides steps in putting together a learning plan for your youth group.
  
  
• "Youth as Partners" provides techniques and tools for working with young groups.
  
  
• "Successful Club Meetings" provides information about conducting club meetings.
  
  
• "4-H Recordkeeping" provides information on the benefits of 4-H recordkeeping and how to help young people develop recordkeeping skills.
  

In each section, information is presented in a variety of mediums (print, video, audio...), followed by an assignment for participants to complete and submit.  Participants need to complete each section in the order presented.

Once all sections and assignments are completed, participants will earn a 4-H 101 participation certificate
